God sees them…will you?

on September 13, 2011

He loves them

See a woman with her son; he doesn’t meet your eyes…

He’s lost in his own world, a world that makes his mother cry

Because he doesn’t call her “Mommy,” he doesn’t come when he’s called,

And, for her, those precious words “I love you” may not ever be heard at all…

Then watch as a single father, holding hands with a teenage boy

Tries to communicate, to love on him, to teach his son such joy;

But it’s more than an instinct, it’s more than making him try to feel or give.

Sometimes the child can’t see beyond all they need to simply live.

And the world,

They don’t understand.

But God loves, God loves them all, He loves them all…

The mothers, the children, fathers, too, the family that tries to help them through,

And He sees, oh He sees them and He hears them when they call

Even though it feels like sometimes He isn’t listening at all

He knows them, He sees them,

And He loves them.

A child runs through the room, with his Mommy close behind,

Trying to stop him, hoping he’ll calm down, that the room won’t be unkind…

But her baby boy, now so strong, so fast, has a habit of being too loud,

So the mother spends much of her time asking forgiveness of the crowd.

Now watch as a child cowers in the dark, crying & trying to repress;

The needs, desires and preferences, which can be so foreign to us…

But his mother knows what she needs to do, and she works for a long while,

Just so she can see her baby’s sorrow turn to laughter and smiles.

Because God loves, God loves them all, He loves them all;

The mothers, the children, fathers, too, the family that tries to help them through,

And He sees, oh He sees them and He hears them when they call

Even though it feels like sometimes He isn’t listening at all

He knows them, He sees them,

And He loves them.

The world can be hard on children, whose lives are different from yours,

But if you choose only to knock for once, you could open so many doors

You could learn instead of grumble, help instead of run

And work toward making the parents smile, too, when all is said and done.

Because God loves them with no reserve, no judgment and no doubt

And he made them the way they are so we all can figure out

That God loves, God loves us all, He loves us all;

The mothers, the children, fathers, too, the family that tries to help us through,

And He sees, oh He sees us, and He hears us when we call

Even though it feels like sometimes He isn’t listening at all

He knows us,

He sees us,

And He loves us.
